A small girl encounters a sad fish in the ocean. She goes to the bookstore and sees little fish trapped inside books. Awake in her bed at night, she puts two and two together and takes action.
The picture book is about releasing animals from books, but is just as well a metaphor for releasing anything that is kept in boxes: animals, people, dreams — especially if it requires secretly climbing out of your bedroom window at night, to break into a bookstore.
