MOLD is an print magazine about designing the future of food. Through in-depth, original reporting and a distinct vision for how design can transform our food system, our editors cover innovative ideas emerging from the world of food design and technology. From cellular agriculture to 3D food printing, entomophagy to beautifully designed tableware (and why it makes your meal taste better), MOLD spotlights the ideas that will revolutionise how we produce, prepare and eat food in the years to come.

Completing its cycle of 6 print issues, this final edition of MOLD magazine returns to the microbial scale of Issue 01 by focusing on designing new earths on this Earth: to spark new imaginaries, forge new relationships, and most importantly, ground ourselves in the soil.

This issue includes conversations with Cooking Sections, Anna Tsing (Mushroom at the End of the World) and Barnabé Fillion (Arpa), artwork by Thomas McCarty, Eric Timothy Carlson, Benedikt Luft, and Monika Mogi, and contributions from Stephen Satterfield (Whetstone/High on the Hog), Mariana Pestana, Alicia Kennedy, David Zilber, and Meg Miller (Are.na).

A 48-page poetry insert, “Scores for a New Earth,” gathered by Emma Leigh Macdonald and designed by Somnath Bhatt accompanies the issue.

144 pages + special double cover featuring artwork from N&MS + poetry insert.
