Alongside his official work, Chinese government photographer Feng Li is known for his images of the population of his hometown, Chengdu. His unique gaze, often amusing and at times bitingly funny, always prompts strong reactions. Invited for an artist’s residency in Paris, Feng brings a fresh perspective to the City of Light and its inhabitants. Including images of celebratory moments like those following the football World Cup win, along with scenes from a few quintessentially Parisian protests, his book succeeds in avoiding clichés to offer an uninhibited and irreverent take on the French capital.

Born in 1971 in Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan province in China, Feng Li studied acupuncture before turning to photography, as both a civil servant in Chengdu’s publicity department and an artist. Contrasting with the official images he produces, his personal work draws on the real experiences and encounters offered to him by contemporary Chinese society. He is the winner of the 2017 Prix Découverte presented at the Jimei x Arles photography festival, and exhibited his work at the Rencontres d’Arles photography festival in 2018.

Inspired by the House's travel heritage, the Louis Vuitton Fashion Eye collection evokes cities, regions or countries through the eyes of fashion photographers, from emerging talents to industry legends. Each title in the series features an extensive selection of large-format photographs, together with biographical information and an interview with the photographer or a critical essay. After Louis Vuitton City Guides and Travel Books, this third collection presents travel photography with a fashion perspective, as the chosen photographers all infuse their images of great cities, faraway places or dream destinations with their unique vision.
