Registration deadline: until February 28, 2024

How does art get into a book? In this workshop, we will look for answers to this question and immerse ourselves in designing our own artist book. To get started, we will develop small series and collages from existing printed matter and approach our own theme. If the concrete form of the book is not yet clear at the beginning, it may only emerge as the process continues. Whether zine, fanfold or a book bound with adhesive – there are practically no limits to the shape and format of the books. The workshop thus creates a free space for artistic (book) production, which is always structured by technical and content-related support.

No previous knowledge is required to take part in the course. All working materials as well as a basic stock of paper, newspapers and magazines will be available. However, you are also welcome to bring your own graphic material, e.g. old postcards or wrapping paper.

Benedikt Steiner, born 1990 in Basel, lives and works as a poet, visual artist and performer in Vienna. BA of Arts for experimental design in Lucerne, studied language arts in Vienna.
