Day after day, we are confronted with images of war and destruction in the media. While governments around the world are demanding more and more weapons, the arms industry can barely keep up with demand. A good time for arms dealers.

“Nothing Personal” shows the “back office” of war, which ironically reveals the exact opposite of a battlefield, a kind of oversized playground for adults, well stocked with wine, canapés and freshly polished weapons of all kinds.

Nikita Teryoshin deliberately refrains from showing the faces of those involved in the global arms trade in his series. It is not his intention to present specific individuals, but to question the system as a whole. The image of the anonymous arms dealer can be understood as a metaphor for a shady business that usually takes place outside the focus of the media and the public.

Nikita Teryoshin was born in St. Petersburg in 1986 and lives in Berlin. He describes his genres as a mixture of “street photography, documentary and everyday horror”.He works as a freelance photographer for many German and international magazines. His work has been exhibited and awarded several times, including the World Press Photo Award.

This event takes place in cooperation with Das Kunstbuch and Vienna Art Book Fair. Good(ie) News: with the purchase of Nikita Teryoshin’s photo book “Nothing Personal” we will give away a limited edition black VABF bag to the first 5 buyers.
