Profane is an independent art and culture magazine that focuses on amateur art. Issue 21 is themed around the color blue.
It all begins with the turquoise hand of Thomas Saint-Guillaine and soon there is a collection of images blued by time by Charles Villa, then 3,500 graceful skies hidden in the black by Anne Jaffrenou, finally bodies painted in Avatar-like color photographed by Pauline Hisbacq. A stitched number, outlined in blue. This primary color in our retina, which resists, persists, where does it lead us? We would then like to ask Jérôme Pélégry if one day he did not want to give a Pierrot le Fou look to one of his male portraits, a blue color on a white face. Blue, a strange feeling. But other colors are already stirring; green, red, yellow, those which adorn the packaging of Western products that Eddy Ekete knows well, since his festival in Kinshasa, in the DRC, where he parades the devious power of colorful consumption which ends up as waste in the saturated streets.
