Reminiscence of an Echo brings together FLINTA+ artists exploring the intersection of personal and collective memory through photography, installation and performance.
A special project funded by the Student Union – University of Applied Arts Vienna
Issue 01: Reminiscence of an Echo
The project explores the complex nuances of memory and its connection to both collective and individual identity from a queer-feminist perspective. Featuring visual works and performances by fourteen artists, the exhibition examines the significance of archives and remembrance through diverse approaches to the photographic medium.
The magazine is conceived as an extension of this experience and can be rearranged and incorporated into both public and private spaces due to its poster format. Each page is dedicated to one artist—showcasing their visual work on the front and a quote on the back—while performance artists present excerpts of their texts on both sides of the page.
Through sequencing, the images and words merge, shift,and intertwine, creating new contexts and forming a dialogue between the artists.
