GUTMAG is a collaborative, artist-run magazine that turns the act of publishing into a collective experiment. Each issue is produced through improvisation and exchange, bringing together dozens of contributors in a shared editorial space.
For Issue 2: Doubles, the process expanded into two parts: an open call followed by a one-day making session where artists explored pairs, reflections, and repetition through writing, collage, photography, and drawing. The resulting 84-page, twin-loop-bound publication blurs the line between documentation and design, platforming the work of queer and trans artists and carrying forward the spirit of New York’s community-driven independent publishing scene.
