Sebastian Weissinger presents his photo book about the Vienna subway in conversation with Kevin Nowak (graphic design).

Intervall 2′-5′ is photographer Sebastian Weissinger’s first monograph. Designed as an ongoing documentary, he has been recording the most important stations, routes, and sections of his life in a sketchbook-like manner since 2018 on his travels through Vienna’s public transport network. It is the fleeting moments and small detours through the urban labyrinths that, once captured with the camera, can become meaningful—light falling into a dark stairwell at the decisive moment, glances exchanged, paths that cross for a second, those who wait and those who are driven.

Sebastian Weissinger (*1988) came to photography as a self-taught artist through skateboarding and subculture magazines. He works in both analog and digital, in color as well as in strikingly raw black and white, collecting sketch-like images of the streets of Vienna in a surrealistically inspired visual language.
