Magazine Release Party: Hyperreality Festival 2025, documented by zweikommasieben
7 November 2025, 19:00–22:00
Softcover, Stumpergasse 53-55, 1060 Vienna
On November 7, 2025, zweikommasieben will celebrate the release of its new issue at Softcover in Vienna. It was created in collaboration with the Hyperreality Festival for experimental and electronic music, which took place in May 2025 at the Otto Wagner Areal.
For this issue of zweikommasieben—a magazine dedicated to documenting contemporary music and sound culture since 2011—authors, artists, and photographers came together to observe, accompany, and reflect on the festival. Most of the material was created on site or in the aftermath of the events. Editorially independent, this issue is not a reflection of the festival, but rather an echo of it: a collection of impressions, encounters, and memories that oscillate between documentation and interpretation.
The magazine features interviews with Cities Aviv, Bobby Beethoven, the performance collective Teto Preto, and the Viennese artist Evelyn Plaschg, personal memories of the Otto Wagner complex, photographic portraits, and a work by Marina Sula. The issue is rounded off by an essay by David J. Cross on the concept of “hyperreality” in contemporary music.
In the evening at Softcover, there will be an opportunity to get an insight into the magazine, talk to the creators, and purchase the new issue. Music and drinks will be provided.
