“The unconscious is structured like a language.” (Jacques Lacan)
Who speaks when we write? And where does the text come from? We use these questions to uncover our language reserves through writing. On the first evening of the course, we will look at experimental methods of text production. The focus will be on the technique of montage, i.e. the deconstruction and reconstruction of language and meaning, as well as on working in several drafts. We will also discuss the texts produced during the course. On the second evening of the course, we will use simple binding techniques to bind the notes and texts into an art book that represents the writing process and at the same time translates it into a new form.
No previous knowledge is required to take part in the course. All working materials and a basic stock of paper will be provided. However, you are also welcome to bring your own writing materials.
